Every first Thursday of the month is Kidlit Art Postcard day when children’s book illustrators post their postcards on social media, presenting their portfolios to agents, art directors and editors who look out for the hashtag #kidlitartpostcard.
Somehow that first Thursday always comes completely out of the blue for many of us 😊 and we frantically scroll through our galleries, trying to find a fresh image that hasn’t been posted yet. This month I surprised myself and planned ahead, even more shockingly for the month that started on a Thursday, and made an illustration especially for the postcard.
Looking for inspiration I went through my sketchbooks and found this tiny zine I made last year, A week in a dogs life, featuring Lisa’s exciting country life.
Lisa doesn’t care much for rainy days and she loves her furry nest bed, positioned by the sliding glass doors from where she can survey the terrace (or not).
She does love to dig up my garden though so that might be my Kidlit Art Postcard for July…
🍎 have a nice weekend,
Damjana
Aww super cute!
